“I believe that Decadence has the largest and best selection of vintage clothing in Western Canada,” says Mark Frost, the founder and owner of Decadence, an Edmonton-based vintage clothing store.
Mark is also known around town as the owner of Divine Decadence, a from-new clothing store that opened in 1987 and closed its doors in 2014. “We started by selling clothing out of the trunks of our cars and eventually, once we knew we had a good thing, we decided that we should buy a store,” he says. “At first it was a mix of new and used clothing, but the new clothing took over in Divine Decadence. In 2002, we decided to open Decadence to solely concentrate on vintage clothing, and it’s done really well for us.”
Decadence offers a huge selection of vintage sweaters, dresses, jackets, shoes and boots. There are items that come from the 1950s all the way up to the 1990s. While many people shop at Decadence regularly, it’s also a great spot for customers looking grab their next Halloween costume or outfit for a wild night out.
