“Everyone says it, but it’s true: we are absolutely committed to the finest products and the best customer service. We will do anything our customers ask of us and that’s really been the cornerstone of the business this whole time. And we’re not changing it,” says Greg Keller, owner of Bon Ton Meat Market, proudly. “When other businesses are cutting back staff we are going the other way. We are maintaining a large team to ensure everyone who comes in is looked after individually and all of our customers get exactly what they want. I learned a long time ago to base every decision on the long term, not the short term.”
Introduced to his father’s craft of meat cutting at the young age of 13, Greg spent many years moving up the ranks in the commercial meat world before the Keller family joined the Bon Ton team in the mid-1990s. The Kellers worked alongside the Middletons’ before they accepted the reins to continue the legacy of Bon Ton Meat MarketBon Ton is truly a part of the city’s heritage, since the original family owners and operators opened the doors in 1921 to provide Calgarians with the highest quality meats Alberta has to offer.
“This is what I truly enjoy: the old fashioned way of doing business, running a family business and working for myself, rather than the big corporate way,” says Greg, who you’ll find at Bon Ton on a daily basis, making sure the experience they are renowned for is maintained.
