We went to celebrate chinese new year, and had the above dishes. (by the way we have had dim sum and dinner here on 5 previous occasions when no one was in the restaurant and it was great) There was about 5 tables in the restaurant this time around. They were obviously doing a swift take-out business (for delivery) the owner was the delivery boy. We waited 45 minutes for our soup. The food was on par with a food court no love or quality in it. The seafood hot pot consisted of shrimp, pieces of calamari and then a whole pot of tofu, they should rename this dish tofu with shrimp (had this dish last week and it was loaded with seafood and not a piece of tofu in sight). The chow mein noodles were greasy, there wasn't any pork in the dish and a tonne of carrots and a few pieces of regular broccoli (had this dish before as well, was completely different). Everytime we mentioned that the food was not good and the service was slow, we got the same response, sorry we are busy with our take-out. Since we frequent chinese restaurants on a regular basis I must say the food sucked. I think that when you open a restaurant as a high-end joint you should not be sub-standard, also if you are not familiar with "north american" customer service go and find out. This was the worst meal we ever had. I guess if I was in the mall court and had the same for 1/4 of the price I may have found it passable but for $85 plus tax and tip this was a big dissapointment. My husband spoke with the owner at the end of our meal and there was no compensation. We got the impression that they just thought we were plain stupid or something. Tsk Tsk.
