Went there for a birthday party and ordered a salad. My salad came with the whole Bottom part of the stem of a whole Romain lettuce. That’s part of the lettuce is not edible. I made a complaint and nothing Was done to fix the situation. When food came servants were passing the food over our heads to the other side of the table as opposed to going around. Also servants were very rude. The bill also came with 18% gratuity included and they stated that that was PART of the tip. Do not recommend.
I will never visit this place again!! The service is horrible. I have never been treated to rude.
The service was slow to begin with, the waiter did not come by to refill our drinks or ask how our food was. We did not receive our appetizers until after our main courses arrived. When the bill came, my dad polietly asked why we were charged an extra $3. The waiter rudely said "you ordered gnocci those are extra, this is you bill, gnocci are extra. My dad innocently said "Im sorry sir, you never told me that". The waiter then agrued and said "Yes I did, you need to pay your bill, that is your bill" he then threw the bill on the table and stormed off.
As my family was discussing the situation and the rudeness, an arrogant waiter from behind the bar said "Its just 3$ hurry up and pay" We looked at him in disgust and were shocked by this behaviour.
We paid our bill and left in shock. The only reqret I have of that night was paying the bill.
I've been going to Desserts Plus for many years...it's always packed and the food is always consistant and delicious! For the first time in years, I ordered pizza instead of pasta (I'm a big pasta lover lol)...and let me tell you, it was phenomenal!
This restaurant has terrible service. You can expect long wait times even if tables are available and then expect forever to be served. The portion sizes are huge but generally lack flavour and spice. The prices are reasonable but the lackluster service and bland food outweigh the benefits of the cost.
This is one of my family's favourite dinner places. It is friendly although the service can sometimes be a bit slow. Be prepared to wait but believe me, the excellent food is worth the wait.
The waiting staff are always ready to smile although they are, as I said busy. It can be a bit crowded, but it works - somehow this adds to the atmosphere in that it creates the feeling of a large family function.
The food.... delightfully delicious!!!!! We have tried many items on this scrumptious Italian menu and have never been disappointed. The servings are generous. Very.
There is a wide offering of sauces to choose from and we have loved them all.
The pizza is great too - the kids love it.
Often we celebrate family birthdays there and it the perfect setting to do so.
I frequent this place often. Yes ..service is slow but well worth the wait. Portions are big, authentic and not expensive. If a place is full of Italians..then you know the food is great. I tried there new mini arancini (risotto balls) for the first time. Absolutely incredible!!! My wife and I had to order more. They were that good.

My experience with Desserts Plus has been incredible! The food is amazing and the portions are very very large. I ordered the chicken parm and penne with rosa sauce, which I would definetly recommend for anyone visiting this restaurant for the first time. The food was too much to finish in one sitting, which I did not mind at all as I would rather have that instead of being hungry after finishing my meal. The price was amazing for both the quantity and the quality of the food I was given. I would suggest faster service but it is understandable with the amount of people eating at the restaurant when I went. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone looking to have an amazing meal in a great environment and not wanting to take out a loan to pay for their meal. For the meal being offered, the price could be much higher, but the simple fact that it is still a reasonable price proves that this is still one of the "true italian restaurants", both in atmosphere and the mentality of good food for a low price, that is left in the GTA.
What a horrible experience! Reservation was not honored.Noone to greet you at the door for 20 minutes.People with no reservations were seated before those with reservations.Surly waiters.Food was very mediocre but plentiful.Calamari was rubbery,pizza had no taste,lettuce was wilted.Worst of all everyone was served at diffrent times.Pizzas arrived after the other people were halfway through their meal.Tip was automatically added to the bill so staff had no incentive to make any effort and they certainly didn't!!
good food, rough service,Reminds me of old family get togethers. Good restaurants actually cook there food so yes you have to wait a little longer. After a long weeks work-RELAX enjoy your company and your food, and if you have issues voice your opinion to the right people.Lively and loud just like the old days. I will be back.
This is one of the worst experiences we have ever had a restaurant. We went for a nice family dinner to celebrate our Grandfather's birthday. We were ignored the whole night by our waiter and waitress. There were children running around and screaming the entire night. It took over an hour and a half for our orders to be taken, then the food came out at different times. Some of our party was finished their meal before others had even been served. They ran out of vegetables for my meal and instead of informing me or asking what I would like instead they chose an item I would never eat. We spoke to one manager who said he would look after us, but after waiting with dirty dishes for over half an hour, and then waiting another half an hour for someone to ask for the bill, and then receiving it and seeing that nothing was done, we asked to speak to him again. A different manager spoke to us and would not do anything about the bill, and the tip was included and he would not even remove that. The whole experience was horrible. Do not eat here!

this is a brutal place, i was born and raised in Italy and sadly now living in woodbridge like everyother Italian.. but i have been to this place more then once and hopefully wishing there service will smarten up but clearly not! ... they are rude, ignorant, and worst of all NO PEOPLE SKILLS what so ever! ... I will most diffently not recoment this restaurant to anyone i know! there has been times where no one would hardly be in there and we still had to wait over an hour and there was reservations!!! whats the point of making them then, honestly! .. when we finally got seated i was the only one who ordered an appetizer when she asked everyone what drinks they wanted! .. so "apparently" wrote down what i wanted but the Meals came before the appetizer and i still had to ask her where it was TWICE!! the second time i got upset and just told her to forget i dont want it when my mean is here now! she hardly came to the table to see how were doing or how the food was, the glasses were empty for a long period of time before she even came acround to check! and i had to aks another waiter for refills and the bill! .. being a family owned restaurant is NO EXCUSE to be that RUDE or SLOW.. if your not ready for business then dont open a restaurant...
I read the previous reviews and was tempted to cancel my reservations and I am glad I didn't. I found the food to be exceptionally good. The portions to be overly generous and our waitress was delightful. I would go back in a heartbeat.
The most over-rated restaurant in woodbridge. Seriously, this place is a disaster. The service is incredibly slow and yes the portions may be big, but if your a fan of waiting 2 hours for 1 entree and on top of it your waiter is RUDE, then be my guest. I have been there several times (many times not by choice) and I absolutley refuse to go back. So many better places in Woodbridge, with same pricing, same foods, same portions and better service.
This is a great little Italian place in Woodbridge, home-like cooking. There's always a line up. That tells you that people always go back for more. Stop complaining and go find somewhere else to go if you don't like the service etc. You're paying for what you're getting....it's just a small family run restaurant with some home-like cooking and they don't pretend to be anything else!
Went there with a party of 10, reservation were made and menu was pre ordered.
Sitting us down was not problem since it was a private party. But to get fed was another problem. It took them two hours to acutually start bringing us our food. Good was pretty good, however we were starving at the time.
I have travelled all over Italy and have eaten at the most rustic trattorias to the fanciest ristorantes and everywhere in between...so I can tell you that you can all keep kidding yourselves about Desserts Plus..the truth is the food quality is CHEAP and the service is IGNORANT!
They would never serve such food to you in Italy, ..you go because it's the cheapest place in woodbridge to eat but so are the ingredients you are eating!
Desserts Plus is what it is...simple food, simple prices.
I go for cheap lunches and it's fine for that. But sometimes it's just not worth the rude, slow and terrible service.
I have been to desserts plus many times and the service was slow. Top my amazement on this day it was great. The food is never an issue. In the past when we have experienced slow service, we have said we will not go back and still we go back as the portions are great and so is the price. You have to be patient and I recommend making a reservation so that you are not waiting. If they would hire more staff too , that would make people less irritable and could end up making them more profitable as they will seat more people in one evening.
I, too, agree with most of the reviews...the service is slow and you do feel like you're bothering the staff.....the gentleman who sat us was absolutely rude. We did have reservations but still had to wait and we were actually moved from our table once we sat down to accomodate another party.
But the food was good and the portions were big..enough to take a doggy bag home!! Since
it was my first visit, I will give it one more chance. Its too bad about the service, though...
