Debbie Mahony had her own salon and was an educator working for L’Oreal in England when she decided to move to Calgary in 2008. She began by working at a couple of different salons here, but always had an eye on being her own boss again. “I was just driving toward building clientele and then venturing out on my own,” says Debbie. She opened Visible Changes Hair Design in 2010 and immediately brought in L’Oreal products again. “When I did get my own salon it was a no-brainer to carry the products that I teach.”
In running Visible Changes Hair Design, Debbie wanted to stay away from some of the tyrannical bosses she had seen elsewhere. “I like to run a happy ship. I like the girls to be happy,” she says. “As a business owner, I like to keep the stimulus up with the girls rather than drag my heels. They’ll look elsewhere if I do that. As long as you keep everyone happy they’ll go the extra mile for you.”
I visited Visible Changes a few weeks ago. My stylist Melanie was very professional and took the time to listen to what I wanted. She talked to me about what colors would suit me and also discussed where we would be putting the high lights. My color still looks great and my cut too! Very impressed with my visit here and have recommended it to all my friends!!!
