Been here several times. Halibut is good. Chips I got today were at least 1/2 plate full of tiny hard chip ends. I mentioned this to cashier who said "we peel and cut our own potatoes - that is the problem. You get all these little pieces". Well, either buy bigger potatoes or throw the little ends out or just give people a few of them - not 1/2 a platefull. The service was slower than usual and they had trouble with the coffee maker so we had to wait until we were half-way through meal for coffee. Used to be an excellent place but we are kind of turned of it now.
I have been going to eat at Captain George's Fish in Chips in Belleville at least twice a month since it has opened. Everytime I have ate there I was impressed with the service and food. I stopped in last week and the owner recognized me and my husband as regulars and he bought us our meal. I have never had that happen before. I thought it was a very nice gesture and in my previous visits I have also seen him do this to other customers. The wait staff take the time to get to know the customers and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. The food is an excellent price for the great quality.
the food was great.the service was excellent.as we were there an older gentleman was having trouble putting his coat on.the waitress helped the gentleman with his coat.that is the most wonderful thing to see.you just dont see that anymore.great job to this waitress.now that is hospitality if i have ever seen it.great job to the folks at captain georges in belleville.definatly eat there again.thanks for a great meal at a great price.
the fish was horrible, the batter was a sickly yellow and very greasy. it was a great disappointment, terrily annoyed as we were all looking forward to a good fish and chips dinner. Forget it
