The mahi chowder was perfection, every bite was bursting with flavour, the best I have ever had. The chef who prepared this wonderful chowder is an artist!
I've lived in Kingston for a long time and I remember going to Windmills and getting great food. The last couple of times I've been it has not been so good. We went for lunch and ordered wraps with fries. The chicken was very dry in the wraps and the fries were double fried (reheated). I like the location and the space is very nice with the local artwork. It's a shame that the food and/or food preparation has seemed to have gone downhill.
We had been to Windmills a few times previously, and the food and service were fine. Tonight, however, was different. We were seated next to a large table of drunks who should have been cut off a long time ago. Service was quite slow. Eventually the food did show up. The pork was tough. Quite disappointing. They did give us a 20% discount for what we had to endure but my lasting memory will be the drunks and the noise.
Great location in the heart of Kingston with a wonderful energy and atmosphere
Windmills has a great atmosphere and an indescribable energy about it. Its located right in the heart of downtown Kingston and has a nice big window looking onto the street. Service is excellent, and the food is very good most of the time. I particularly enjoy going there for breakfast or brunch, especially on weekends. But if you are going on the weekend, expect to wait a while to get in. Its a popular spot at these times, and the line up shows that they must be doing something right.
Delicious, can not wait to go back. Glad I work out because the Gorgonzola Chicken Carbonnara comes with a few calories.
We are regular guest of Windmills and enjoy both the quality of food as much as the wonderful service.
Bill, our usual server always adds that little extra to our dining experience. Thanks to all the staff and in particular Kelli for the best pasta dish ever.
