Read all the reviews and decided to try Shin Shin since our favourite Chinese restaurant Harvey Lo s has now closed. First time here and last time here!! Very very dissapointed!! Will never be back!! You people who wrote these reviews have no clue what REAL GOOD CHINESE food is If I want to consume a gallon of grease I ll just stay home and drink my bottle of canola oil!!! Service wasnt bad but the food was horrible Obviously the people writing these reviews havent gone anywhere else!!

Everytime we go here the portion size we get is different and sometimes so is the quality. Once our meat was undercooked and another time the seafood was so tuff. But when the food is good it is great. Needs to be more consistent.
This is western chinese like I remember it from the 70's. Service is very good. They make sure to say hello and always are there if you need them but not intrusive. Food is decent. Its not gourmet. But the prices are low too. I personally cannot eat this kind of food to often but would go more if I did. The staff makes you feel like they want your business and delivers value for the $ no question. Decor is old school chinese as well. I like it. Again - its not fancy but also not a dump. The place has character and so do the people - in a good way. You can eat and be treated like a king for $10. Best wonton of anywhere I've tried in Windsor.
Awesome food! Fast service! Hands down some great chinese food. The place is a dump.. but its always full of people which makes the atmosphere welcoming. Some of my favorites are the Hot and Sour Soup, Fried Bread, Green Beans Price is great too!
My husband and I started going to the Shin Shin 15 years ago and now visit regularly with our three daughters...we all love it! The wonton soup and spring rolls and many other dishes are among our favourites. Even with my girls finicky tastes, they made changes to accommodate them when they were younger! We live out of the city...but regularly make the trip in to indulge in our favourite chinese feast!!!! Julia always makes the experience warm and welcoming. Visit and enjoy the best Chinese cuisine in Windsor!
I've been going to Shin Shin's ever since it opened as a little storefront ages ago (far more than 20 years)... hands-down my (and many of my friends') favorite Chinese restaurant. Where else can you get deep-fried (better than the steamed, but I've friends who disagree... get one of each!) Hunan string buns? Incredible. Best Hot and Sour soup I've had anywhere (and I'm old, and have it in a lot of different places!... just make sure to ask for it spicy)! The Slivers of Chicken appetizer is unique, and wonderful! The Shrimp with Dried Hot Peppers! The Pan-Fried dumplings, with that incredible dipping sauce! And, the Green Beans alone are worth the trip to Windsor... if you get nothing else, do get the Green Bean. Oh, and all the good things everyone else has said... they're true.

Visited once and have been back twice since. For the price this is excellent. Old School Western Chinese food. Its not fancy dinig no but the prices also are very affordable. The service is great. I like the combo meals. You get a soup and just when you are finishing that a spring roll shows up. Then the main course and after that your fortune cookie. The timing is excellent and has been consistant everytime. Which is why I've been going back. Each time they are pleasant and give me a good value. They make me feel like they appreciate my business. I cant say I'm dissapointed with anything at Shin Shin. Excellent place with prices that make it a no brainer to repeat.

Unreal food. The staff is so nice and you get your food fast. I'd personally say best chineese food in WIndsor. Julie is amazing :) and BEST SPRING ROOLS I'VE EVER TASTED.
Mediocre chinese food. Average service. Way over-rated by a small but other enthusiastic following of customers who simply don't know there's better out there - because it's the only place they've had chinese food at in the last twenty years. Been there done that won't settle!
Sometimes we cross the border just because we're craving the Crispy Beef! The food is consistenly delicious, the service is wonderful (we feel like regulars!). We only wish we could bring our leftovers back to Michigan.
Great relatively authentic North Chinese (Szechuan) food - my favourite Chinese restaurant in Windsor. My family has been going here for around 20 years. Go for the Szechuan dishes such as those ordered above - they are the specialty of this homey regional Chinese restaurant.

This restaurant has been my number one choice for over sixteen years. I've gotten a large number of my friends addicted too!!! There's always friendly service and tons of great fresh food. It's by far the best place to eat if you're in town!
Each dish was delicious, many of the choices are favourites and very popular, especially the Spicy Garlic Green Beans. I am especially fond of spicy dishes and satisfied my tastes with the Hot & Sour Soup, Green Beans and the Crispy Beef. The Spicy Garlic Green Beans is a little bit spicy with a sweet tang to it, cooked in a soy sauce with ground pork on top. I would also highly recommend the Pan Fried Dumplings as they are home made and cooked to perfection. The friendly service was excellent, as always!
